How Voile Chic Scaled Affiliate to 10% of GMV Using Social Snowball

Many ecommerce brands struggle to scale affiliate programs because they lack key infrastructure, like automations, segmentation, and even basic gifting workflows. Without these, operation costs rise, influencer engagement drops, and revenue stagnates.

Voile Chic, a Canada-based hijab brand, ran into this exact problem. Their affiliate program was manual, lacked structure, and couldn’t support their goal of reaching younger buyers, especially on platforms like Instagram and TikTok.

To fix this, Voile Chic worked with Livano Agency to rebuild their affiliate program from the ground up. They switched to Social Snowball to automate onboarding, track performance accurately, and introduce reward tiers and gifting, all from one tool.

The results speak for themselves:

  • 10% of GMV attributed to affiliate sales
  • 10+ hours saved per week on manual work
  • 2% increase in Shopify conversion rate within two months

"I'd recommend Social Snowball for anyone who wants to build a solid influencer affiliate program. You get segmentation, Safelinks, seamless payouts—everything you need to scale. It’s one of the best tools our agency uses."

Rabii Babou, Founder and CEO of Livano Agency

About the brand

Voile Chic is a Canada-based hijab brand known for redefining everyday modest wear with a focus on premium quality, comfort, and modern style.

Launching to fill a gap in the market for reliable, fashion-forward hijabs, the brand quickly earned a loyal following among women looking for pieces that are both functional and elegant.

Challenges: Scaling a niche affiliate program with limited tools & a high manual workload

Before switching to Social Snowball, Voile Chic ran its affiliate program on GoAffPro, but they quickly hit a ceiling. Despite a loyal customer base and clear interest from influencers, their existing setup couldn’t support the scale or complexity they needed to grow.

Some other challenges included:

Rigid platform limitations slowed them down

Voile Chic’s team struggled with GoAffPro’s lack of core features:

  • No affiliate segmentation: All partners were treated the same, making it difficult to run personalized outreach or reward top performers.
  • No gifting workflows: They couldn’t send onboarding kits or incentives without building manual workarounds.
  • No automated payouts: Every commission required manual follow-up, leading to delays and wasted hours.

“Honestly, GoAffPro just didn’t offer what we needed. There was no way to segment affiliates, no option to send gifts—none of the features we were looking for.”

Manual workarounds became unsustainable

Voile Chic needed a way to tap into younger audiences through creator partnerships, but scaling influencer-led growth became inefficient without the right tools.

  • Their team had to build internal workflows to manage outreach, onboarding, and performance tracking.
  • Without automation, every new affiliate meant more operational complexity.
  • Affiliate payouts were a recurring bottleneck. Voile Chic relied on manual Wise transfers, often spending 10+ hours a week just chasing payment details and processing commissions.

“Not too long ago, we were using different tools and handling payouts through Wise—it was such a headache chasing everyone for their payment details.”

Solution: A scalable, automated affiliate program using Social Snowball

To fix the gaps in Voile Chic’s previous affiliate program, their agency, Livano, switched them from Goaffpro to Social Snowball, a platform purpose-built for automation, segmentation, and growth.

Here’s how they restructured the entire affiliate engine to drive more conversions with less manual work:

Building a tiered influencer program

Voile Chic’s primary focus was on influencers, especially women in their early to late 20s across North America. So, instead of a one-size-fits-all approach, Voile Chic launched a tiered commission model designed to incentivize influencers and create natural progression.

Here’s the commission structure they set up:

  • 15% commission to start
  • 20% after hitting $400 in sales (plus a free product)
  • 25% at $2,500
  • Up to 30% for top performers

“It just makes the whole affiliate strategy very seamless for us.”

Besides their motivating commissions, the brand also gifted new influencer affiliates when they were onboarded. New influencers received five hijabs in a gift box, which helped build early excitement.

Post-purchase ambassadors

The brand also set up a post-purchase ambassador program, converting recent customers into brand advocates.

Preventing code leaks

Affiliate code abuse was a major problem before the switch. With Safelinks by Social Snowball, Voile Chic gained control over how codes were shared.

These unique, one-time codes ensured that their discounts didn’t get leaked into public coupon sites, giving them tighter control over attribution and payouts.

“Safelinks gave us control over our affiliate codes and really helped tighten things up and reduce code leaks across the board.”

Automating affiliate payouts

Before Social Snowball, payouts were handled manually, usually through Wise, creating delays and admin headaches.

After switching, payouts were fully automated, saving the internal team hours every week. What’s more, influencers got paid faster, building a positive brand-creator relationship.

“It was a major headache asking for everyone's information and paying them manually through Wise. Social Snowball’s automated payout feature helped us a lot.”

Results: 10% of revenue and a 2% conversion rate lift, all from influencer-led affiliate sales

After switching to Social Snowball, Voile Chic was able to scale its influencer program quickly and efficiently, turning it into a consistent revenue channel.

The results weren’t just incremental; they proved the strategy was working. Since the switch, Voile Chic has consistently driven 10% of its total revenue from tracked affiliate sales alone.

“10% is what’s tracked. We estimate that over 50% of the sales have probably slipped.”

Alongside revenue gains, Voile Chic also saw a conversion rate jump from 3% to 5% on Shopify within the first 60 days. The brand credits this lift to the consistent flow of creator content, which not only built social proof but also improved the performance of their retargeting ads.

“After 3 months, we saw an increase in the conversion rate, and on the return on ad spend on Facebook ads as well.”

This consistent flow of creator content also helped Voile Chic expand its visibility, particularly among women in their 20s and 30s—a segment they had previously struggled to reach..

“Our creator program was very weak before, but now we’re able to get dozens of creatives every single week that just talk about Voile Chic.”

Another big difference was the lighter workload and time saved through automation. Previously, affiliate payouts were handled manually through Wise, often requiring constant follow-up for payment details. Now, the entire process is automated, saving the agency team 10+ hours every week.

This time is now reinvested into growth—building creator relationships, scaling outreach, and optimizing performance.

By replacing manual processes with a streamlined and automated affiliate system, Viole Chic accessed a new growth channel:

  • Scaled influencer partnerships
  • Reached younger audiences
  • Drove 10% of GMV through tracked affiliate sales
